"Where am I...? or whami" software application referred to as "the application", www.whereami.rlscomputers.co.uk referred to as "the site" , "we, us, software developer, researcher, author" referred to as "the author" , "user, person, installer, visitor" referred to as "the user", "Northumbria University, research institution, University, Campus" referred to as "the University", "RLS Computer Services" referred to as "the sponsor".
Privacy Statement
The site collects personally identifiable information (e.g., name, phone number, e-mail address) from users for the purpose of identifying their status and participation in using the applications from any Internet enabled device from any point in the world. Any such information given is used only to respond to inquiries, comments and requests, online communications whilst on the site and for aggregated statistics.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Once the user log's out or/and closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on the site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on the site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use parts of the site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of the site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the accessible portions of our users to enhance the experience on the site.
Server Log Information
When you visit the site we automatically collect the following information.

- The IP address from which you access the site;
- The type of browser and operating system used to access the site
- The date and time you accessed it;

- The pages you visit.
We capture this information to provide better services to our users. For example, we use the browser information to improve the functionality and format our Web pages.
E-Mail
If you send an email via the site, we use your return email address to respond to you. All emails carry a digital signature of its sender to verify who they are. Users are reminded that email is not necessarily secure against interception.

If you use any of our web forms to contact us, we capture only the information you provide.
